  Coming to Canada August 30th-wanna party?

  yup, i'm visiting naeb and going to a tragically hip concert, but i figure i'll be up there with the wifey for about five days.

  who wants to party with us?.

  i'm sure naeb has things planned (like getting me smashed and laughing his ass off while my wifey photographs me in compromising positions so that the imcriminating pics can be posted gleefully here).

  Wow!

  Reading all this has brought back alot of old memories. Simon as a kid I spent a summer in Lethbridge

  with an aunt. Visited my mom in Edmonton, we went to the Calgary Stamped. I was in Edmonton 2 yrs ago

  when I went to visit my Dad at his place for the first time, he lives in Moose Jaw, SK. I spent the day at the

  Edmonton Mall. What a blast. That place is amazing. Toronto has a great hands on science museum. The

  kids had a great time there (me too). Boy I've been around. Anyone live near Northern Kentucky or Southern

  Ohio?? Hey thanks for the memories.

  50 years today

  i am 50 years old today.

  the world is a very different place from the one i was born into.

  i have been witness to the beginnings of television and the explosion in communications; cell phones and computers.

  Ya know I just got to thinking I've not had a birthday party since I was 3. I've had cakes but I've never had

  a party. When I turn 50 (4 yrs) I think I'll throw me a BIG one.

  I went to one party as a JW kid. My granny was out of town and my worldly aunt let me go to my friends

  Birthday party when I was 8. I always remember how much fun that was.

  The court heard that as a prank on a church elder and "prude", one of the group stashed women's underwear in his pack and photographed one of the boys wearing a bra when they arrived at the lake hut.

  OK, what am I missing here? A 14 year old Elder??????

  so whats wrong with fathers day?

  fathers day is coming up and this will be the first year that i will be getting my dad the card and a gift .

  i mentioned it to someone and they acted like i was commiting a sin.

  so what problem do the jw's have with this holiday ?

  I know they don't celebrate mothers or fathers day and it probably stems from putting someone before God. You would think this would be one that they would recognize since the bible tells us to HONOR our mothers and fathers. God is giving his permission to put them in esteem. Doesn't make sense to me but SOMEONE here will have a good WTBS answer. I'm curious too??

  hey,.

  ok, i need all the advice i can get...... last week i told my sister (she is jw, as is my entire family) that i did something stupid.

  i had just broken up with my boyfriend because he was cheating on me.... and in some kind of drunk-revenge-mood i slept with his best friend..... .

  I went though the whole process (but I didn't say I was kissing) My grandmother gave me the choice to tell, or SHE would have to. I didn't want her to be humiliated so I told them. I had been out for about 3 yrs. they didn't scare me. They were saved all the goory answers to their questions " I stated I had been out along time, just let me go, and I would do it again!" they couldn't argue with unrepentance. So they did let me go. Actually I was repentant, God knew my heart and I asked for and was given forgiveness. I needed to prove that to no one else. I wasn't going to jump thru hoops for meer mortals.

  Habitat for Humanity?

  does anyone know anything about this organization, aside from the fact that jimmy carter is somehow associated with them?

  i'm considering doing some volunteer work for them, but don't know really know much about them.

  i believe they are "faith-based", which i'm not necessarily keen on, but they get people into houses and bypass government red tape, which i do like.

  It is a great org. I have helped on a couple houses myself, they were building a whole block of 4 or 5 houses close to my house a few years ago. It was alot of work but well worth the effort. My talent was mudding the drywall. NO preaching what so ever!!!! (I kinda remember a prayer before it got started, but you can handle that can't you?) The home owners are expected to put in alot of hours to help build their house. (the ones who are physically able) It is to give them pride in their home and make them apart of it. Helps make them responsible for it. They don't just get it handed to them. One of the houses in the block was totally handicap accessable. Try it, you will like it.

  Where did all the Dubs go?

  i`ve made a few posts about how much the dubs work my neighbourhood.you`d see them at least 2 or 3 times a month,sometimes more,going up and down our street.this has been going on for over 10 years.they avoided my house like the plague.i wonder why?

  (lol)last month not a single dub,this weekend not a single dub.where`d they all go?is any one else missing dubs from their neighbourhood?has the un-scandel and or silent lambs scandel got them hiding out.they`ve sure taken a beating lately,they must be getting chewed-out at the door on a regular basis now...outlaw

  Please tell me that cat thing was a joke!
  If it wasn't you people are much sicker then you were 28 yrs. a go. A cat is a serpent? Cats lick inapropriate body parts? Give me a fricking break. (I do have to admit the hair balls are pretty nasty).
  Really that whole artical made my stomach sick. Please tell me he was kidding and they don't take that serious. Such crap!
